      Hi All,

Yes, I just made a switch from guys to the more inclusive all, which I more or less am at work saying my hi’s and bye’s. Go ahead, decry wokeness gone wrong, this is the me who got up in my wedding speech and acknowledged the traditional custodians of the land where we held our reception.

What’s that, wedding? Yes, I’m now proud owner of a tungsten ring with a nice little shiny shiny diamond in it, and the other half to go with it. Such a great, fun day, surprisingly not too stressful except for the fact I left the rings at home and had to haul it back home. Ahh, marriage joys, at least it was only ten minutes to my place from church (my driver got me there in like seven :D).

So, how is married life? So far good, but its still early days. I could stand to help out around the house a bit more, and things are going to change so I’ll be on dinner duties. The main thing is fitting in the new Let’s Play vids, exercising, home duties, prayer (I’ve hedged of late) going to 12 step meetings (also hedged of late), so I’m not stagnating while the other half does everything.

All going to plan, I might find that rhythm I’ve been looking for. And thanks to the wonder of scheduled tweets, I might get this blog stuff, and my Let’s Plays off and running.

But while I think of all that, I just realised I’m not looking at myself and my lovely brain condition that has me on three meds a day just to function. There’s another med my psych suggested, may help lose weight because my current mood stabiliser increases appetite, and I’m trying a shake diet again to shed some kilos. Physically, too, I’ve been wait to see a podiatrist because my feet roll in. Well, 12 months on my private cover, wait time is over.

As for how I’ll put it, things are on a positive trajectory, but maybe I can nudge that up higher.

The Last Two Months in Writing

Well, I have gotten somewhere. Sure it’s been like two chapters, and I’m a bit stagnant at the moment. Thought I was onto one particular chapter, but already laid out two more between that one and where I am. Maybe I’ll get it down to one chapter, and keep the other one up my sleeve for later in this portion of the story.

So, all good I suppose? Let’s see if I get some writing done this week.

The Gaming Life

Welp, I’ve gone and done it, I’m now proud owner of an MSI Stealth 15M, the two grand little brother, because I wasn’t about to sink four grand on the decked out bigger brother. Hopefully it’ll do some justice for Starfield, even if it’s at lower resolution, but I’m currently checking limitations on a playthrough of Fallout 4.

Speaking of which, said laptop I got has 16GB of ram, which is enough to do screen recording. Throw in video making/editing software, and I’m now up two episodes of Let’s Play Fallout 4. Am I going to be prudish and just mention it? No, I bring you YouTube vids, and if you enjoy them, subscribe to follow my playthrough while I wait for Starfield.

Also, I need a better microphone for recording. And work on my voice because, well, somewhat nervous and I tend to not speak clearly at times. I’ll figure something out. But anyway, here’s episode one and episode two!

This Week in Church

Well, it’s a tough one. Amos chapter 7 comes out swinging against gross capitalism, those looking for the end of the New Moon, the sabbath, to lower the bushel, raise the shekel, swindle, tamper with the scales, to buy up the poor for money, the needy for a pair of sandals, and get a price for sweeping wheat. “And God swears it by the pride of Jacob, ‘Never will I forget a single thing you have done.’” Ouch.

St Paul gives us a break in his letter to Timothy, hopeful perhaps, as he sees early Christians praying for everyone, especially kings and others in authority, so they could coexist in peace. I’m not sure how much is It for conversion, but he mentions petitions, intercessions, thanksgiving, so possibly the living example others might look up to. He finishes, “In every place, then, I want the men to lift their hands up reverently in prayer, with no anger or argument.

Lastly, Jesus raises an intriguing situation – a steward wasteful with his master’s property, about to get fired, who is told to draw up an account before he goes. He ponders what to do, he’s not strong enough for digging (say working in a mine), he’d be too ashamed to beg… But he figures he can find welcome in other homes by astuteness, and calls for his master’s debtors.

He asks them what they owe, but halves the debt of oil, and forgives two-fifths of the wheat, and earns his master’s praise, though Jesus comments, The children of this world are more astute in dealing with their own kind than are the children of light.”

Now the lesson, which culminates in the inability to be slave of God (or if you’re atheist, humanity) and money, by way of being trusted/dishonest of small things means you’ll be trusted/dishonest in great things, and if distrusted with money/what’s not yours, who will trust you with genuine riches/give you what is your very own (think work, managing the time you’re given, succeeding at tasks, for what you earn, and could get a pay rise for).

Even I’ve prayed for money. I didn’t get it, of course, until much later, learning the dreams I had at the time were just bipolar, and given how much it was, astuteness saw it locked away for a year in term deposit, then used to move out and set up for the future. But what is it that you serve, the money, or the higher power/purpose? And how could we move from chasing dollars to banking on the poor and needy?

Charity, but in secret, or, without fanfare. Time, maybe you could give it to Vinnies or another charitable organisation. But at the simplest, don’t praise it, but bank it away for the time you really need it, or pay off extra on that car or home loan so if things hit the fan, you can reduce your repayments, have that bricks and mortar backing you up.

Ad Finishum

So, that’s it for this blog. Hope you have some enjoyment of the Let’s Play, and don’t forget you can still get Three Ways: The Ways In on the cheap at Amazon. Maybe I’ll be back in two weeks.

And as I always say, have a good one!

      T.M.
